The Experience of Being Human
Being human... Witnessing the magic of nature, listening to beautiful notes, falling in love, experiencing passion, being touched by beautiful energies and finding joy... When we focus on the moments where we experience these, we embark on a deeper journey toward the creative power within us.
The most magical moments of the human experience are those when you realize you can experience paradise right here on Earth. Let's start with farewells, for example. Are they always filled with sadness? I thought so, until I experienced the opposite. For the first time in my life, I wasn't saddened by a goodbye. It was the end of a day I'd lived every moment to the fullest, and I wasn't filled with sadness, but with excitement. Because I knew this very well: this wasn't a farewell, but a harbinger of better days to come.
What a wonderful feeling it is to stop worrying about and dwelling on the past and feel excited for the days to come. I'm filled with gratitude for being able to feel this feeling. Thinking your life is worth being grateful for, and adding a new brushstroke to your artwork every day... This artwork is yours. You choose the theme, the colors, the patterns, and everything that goes into it. That theme can be filled with love and passion, work and career, or it can encompass all of these. Ultimately, the equation is simple: the choice is yours, and you are the creator. The experience of being human can be spent dreaming and working to make your work of art more beautiful every day, or it can be spent listening to those who tell you it can't be done… The choice is yours.
The experience of being human can be spent believing that the reason for the intersecting paths is presented to you as something more beautiful than you could ever imagine, or it can be spent believing that everything that happens to you is an unfortunate coincidence brought about by bad luck that never ends up… The choice is yours.
The experience of being human…
It is filled with surprises, joys, and pain… Because this experience is based on balance, you cannot learn to get back up without falling, and you cannot know what it means to fall without falling. You fall into pain, and because you fall into pain, you know what happiness means.
Does surprises or coincidences make up the experience of being human on Earth? I choose surprises. This world, where I am captivated by the magnificent order of nature, is, in my opinion, heaven itself.
When we come into this world for this experience, we know how to live in the moment. We are inseparable from our mother's scent and filled with joy by our father's love. We can begin to speak the language spoken around us without needing any training. This world is magical, and anything is possible. New world people call it Manifest, and I call it being one with nature. "Deus sive Natura!" is a Latin phrase derived from Stoic thought, meaning "God is nature," or "Nature is God." Nature and the natural encompass every place untouched by human hands. Nature makes me feel magical. The moments when I feel the most divine power and my faith is most integrated always occur in nature, in these magnificent, spontaneous spaces untouched by human hands.
Planted seeds break their shells and bloom colorful flowers. Over time, patiently, and slowly… The most challenging aspect of the human experience is living with a mind that can think at all times. Minds that can think at all times grieve for the past and worry about the future. Yet, how are we any different from a seed? All we need to do is stop grieving for the past and worrying about the future and live in the moment. Be grateful for every moment we live, believing that every new day we wake up is an opportunity to beautify our work of art.
In his book, "Awakened" Ramtha tells the story of a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly. Watching the caterpillar gnawing on leaves, Ramtha notices that it suddenly stops. Perhaps it's experiencing some difficulty or is sick, he lifts the leaf to its mouth to help it. The caterpillar refuses to gnaw on the leaf and falls asleep. Ramtha waits over the caterpillar, believing it to be sick or dead, and continues to watch. Suddenly covered in a white liquid layer, the caterpillar slowly transforms into a butterfly with blue patterns…
Ramtha interprets this story as follows: while gnawing on leaves, the caterpillar suddenly begins to think it can be more than just being a caterpillar. It falls asleep and dreams of transforming into a beautiful butterfly. When it awakens, it realizes it has fulfilled its dream.
This is precisely the magical power of nature: you can make whatever you dream into reality. Nature's magical power serves as a clue to the human experience. We don't have to look far; sometimes, even when we look at concrete, we can see a flower breaking through it. The flower breaking through the concrete, or the caterpillar transforming into a butterfly, does this by living in the moment, not grieving over the past or worrying about the future. The Caterpillar doesn't think, "Can I be a butterfly?", "Am I lucky enough to be a butterfly?", or "Everyone around me thinks I'm a dreamer and says I can't." It simply dreams, begins to sketch out a new work of art in its mind, and when it wakes up, it begins to live inside it.
As I write these lines, I'm in Berlin. On a Monday, I'm sharing a table with strangers at a bar called "Haliflor" drinking beer. The people to my right are smoking weed and having fun playing a two-player game on their phones. The people on my other side are deep in conversation, frequently clinking drinks. On the next table, there's a birthday celebration, and a birthday girl is sitting at a table surrounded by friends who have arrived with flowers.
We are so different from a caterpillar gnawing on leaves or a seed breaking through concrete to blossom. And would you believe it? I think that's a positive difference. We have friends with whom we can play and enjoy the competition, chat over delicious drinks, and celebrate our birth. Just as many friends tell us we can't do it, we also have friends who tell us we can, and who are always there to support us. We are so lucky and should be grateful for the experience of being human at every moment.
Witnessing the magic of nature, listening to beautiful notes, falling in love, experiencing passion, being touched by beautiful energies and finding joy... When we focus on the moments where we experience these, we embark on a deeper journey toward the creative power within us.
